Ghana’s 9th President Appoints Opposition Member as part of His Government


President John Dramani Mahama has announced a series of strategic appointments to the Office of the President to reinforce governance and operational efficiency. Among the notable appointees is Mrs Joyce Bawah Mogtari, who will serve as the president’s presidential adviser and special aide.

The appointments also see Stanislav Xoese Dogbe and Nana Oye Bampoe Addo assuming roles as Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Operations and Administration, respectively. Professor Francis Dodoo is set to lead the National Anti-Corruption Programme as the presidential adviser, reflecting the president’s commitment to combating corruption.

In an unprecedented move, President Mahama has appointed Nana Yaa Jantuah, a former general secretary and member of the opposition Convention People’s Party (CPP), as a Presidential Staffer. This decision highlights the President’s dedication to inclusive governance, fostering cooperation across party lines.

Jantuah’s appointment, alongside other distinguished individuals such as Seth Emmanuel Terkper and Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo, underscores the administration’s focus on leveraging diverse expertise to drive national development.
