This announcement was made in a public circular on January 9, 2024, signed by Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President. The list was submitted to the Speaker of Parliament as required by the 1992 Constitution. It includes experienced professionals ready to support Ghana’s development.
Nominations for Finance, Energy, and Justice
Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson is nominated as Minister for Finance. Dr. Ato Forson, a five-term member of Parliament for the people of Adjumako Enyan Essiam constituency in the Central Region, is an economist, chartered accountant, and tax specialist with a strong background in public finance. He has a PhD. in finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and advanced degrees from Oxford University. His expertise will help guide Ghana’s economy effectively.

Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for the Bole Constituency, is appointed as Minister for Energy Designate. Jinapor has hands-on experience and knowledge about the energy sector. He holds a Master of Science in Energy Economics from GIMPA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London. His background prepares him to handle Ghana’s energy challenges.

Hon. Dr Dominic Akuritanga Ayine, MP for Bolga East, has been nominated as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice. Dr. Ayine has over thirty years of legal experience. He earned a Ph.D. from Stanford University and an LLM from the University of Michigan Law School. His previous work includes being a Deputy Attorney General and a founding partner at Ayine & Partners Law Offices, which makes him well-suited for this role.
